| Wondering
if that guy will put a ring on your finger? First, we
need to figure out what's in store for your sign!
Aries should expect love but needs to learn how to
return it. Taureans are often engaged in partnership
power struggles that bring them to confrontation with
their deepest needs and motivations. Gemini is romantically
confused and needs to be more honest and direct in love
affairs. For Cancers, the need for love is so great
it is often disguised behind callousness. If Virgos
learn how to talk with a lover, the resulting tryst
is deeply enriching. Librans tend to fall for someone
who helps with those nagging personal entanglements,
perhaps a doctor or lawyer. Let Scorpio deal with all
that attention in the love department - if anyone can
handle it, Scorpio can. Capricorns are sometimes occupied
with karmic questions, but may indeed find a sympathetic
companion. Aquarians have all the necessary appeal -
they need only to pick and choose. Pisceans often get
involved with old friends and learn a lot, no matter
what the outcome.
ARIES (March 2-April 19) Oh, gee, these guys
DO get married, but the easiest way to get them is to
be what they are looking for. They start designing the
ideal girl in their minds in the third grade or so.
If you fit the plan, you'll know soon enough - a rush
from this guy is hard to miss. But if you have to show
him that you're the right one, do a little challenging
- he has trouble turning down a dare and, let's face
it, he's a fire sign and can be ignited. Keep in mind
that his brash, dashing, confident ways need the fuel
of constant encouragement. But here's the secret elixir
whose spell gets Aries to the altar is (are you ready?):
COMMON SENSE. He won't tell you, but he seeks a stable,
sensible mate - are you the one?
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) Love comes naturally
to these guys, but they're not easy. They are gentlemen
- it is the rare Taurean who stands you up. This guy
is more subtle than he often is given credit for, however,
and it's not always easy to know where you really stand.
He has firm criteria, dear, and his niceness can be
misleading. He may appear docile and he enjoys being
finessed, but Taurus is unlikely to be beguiled into
big steps such as marriage. Big decisions he makes in
his own time and in his own secret heart. A helpful
hint, however, is to find ways to appeal to his sense
of luxury and practicality simultaneously: Wear something
marvelous that feels good - when he compliments you
on its beauty, tell him you got it for $2.50 at a thrift
store.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21) OK, right out of the
gate, are you healthy, optimistic and full of energy,
and do you have a good sense of humor? Drop out of this
race if not - the marriage would never last. This guy
is awfully nice, truly generous (even after you're married,
unlike some men) and carries a long-term guarantee that
life with him will never be dull. But you have to be
able to maintain the pace and a cheerful attitude. Captivate
him by being, as they say, fun to be with - he loves
intelligent, articulate women who keep him guessing
and who laugh at his jokes. Possessiveness and jealousy
are OUT (though he has a surprisingly strong jealous
streak himself), and get used to his flirting: it's
a permanent part of his style. But he loves to be married,
so hang in there.
CANCER (June 22-July 22) The story goes that
when the rest of the Beatles went clubbing after late-night
recording sessions, Cancer Ringo Starr headed straight
home to wife, Maureen, whose hand-embroidered shirts
are prominent in snapshots of Ringo at the time. Typical
Cancer male stuff - he is going to get married and work
out of a strong home base (though he may travel the
world in his lifetime), but if you don't truly enjoy
the arts of home- (and baby-) making, don't lead him
on. Can you be nurturing without being a nag? He'll
adore your home-cooked meals and the curtains you make
for his apartment (some guys feel smothered and get
scared off by this stuff). He is moody and a perfectionist,
however, and he needs "alone time," too. If your heart
is in the right place, go for it!
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) Will he? Well, maybe not
- especially if his birthday is in August - this sign
stays single rather comfortably. When the Leo man DOES
marry, it's a true decision to be with you, not just
marriage for its own sake. He wants to be proud of you,
but you mustn't outshine him. He doesn't mind if you
work (females do much of the work in the lion's pride),
but you must be there when he needs you. When together,
you'll talk mostly about him, but he'll brag about you
behind your back and (when friends report this) you'll
be amazed how much he knows about your accomplishments,
since at the time he didn't seem to be listening. Be
possessive, but never make a jealous scene in public
- use subtlety and a little mystery to get him to the
altar. It can be done!
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) Will he marry you? Yes,
if you are worthy. He is discriminating - we didn't
say "picky," did we? - but he has good reason to be.
A Virgo man plans to provide very well for the perfect
family he has in mind. A proposal from this man is a
great compliment. He is somewhat shy and a fish out
of water in emotional matters (data that can be columnized
is more along his line) - that's one reason that he
sometimes says the wrong thing. When he tries to show
concern, it comes across as criticism, but he is very
sensitive. He needs understanding and tenderness, and
if you give him this, he will be touchingly appreciative.
It is useless to lie to him - he will see through you
(he WILL) and may never get over it. He's a wonderful
guy if you can get him.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23) A tricky one, this
male If you get one who knows what he wants, it can
be fairly straightforward. An immature Libra man can
lead you on a merry chase, however. He is terribly intelligent
and a natural diplomat and politician - sometimes he's
a manipulator. He cares what his friends think of you
(there are a few snobs among Libra men). He encourages
your personal development (hooray for this quality!),
and he never forgets to introduce you. Don't expect
his exclusive attention until things are very serious
indeed, and some of these guys are never going to be
faithful (though they will be discreet). But he is fair-minded,
loves the idea of marriage with or without children
and is a natural partner. Flatter him - he has a secret
inferiority complex.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21) You are not the only
one after this guy. He attracts women who want to get
married, though he will take his own sweet time about
the matter - he sometimes remains a bachelor into his
30s, though he is always heavily involved in some emotional
entanglement or other. When he spots THE woman, however,
he may decide on the spot to marry her, long before
she even knows he's alive. He's supremely confident
- with good reason, as his perceptiveness is eerily
reliable. He gives her all the time she needs to come
around to his way of seeing things. Be strong, independent
and worth investigating if you want to pique his interest.
It's got to seem as if it's his idea -but don't get
caught trying to fool him. It's complicated, but try
anyway - he's worth it.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) This man is full
of theories about marriage. Just listen patiently -
it's all a defense, since he's got a strong emotional
side. He's scared to death of anything that might tie
him down in any way, however. If you can somehow convince
him that he'll be even freer with you than without you,
you've got it made. His intellectual curiosity is the
sexiest thing this man has. Do you like to travel? Another
plus. Be guileless, and ask a lot of questions. He fancies
himself a free spirit - do not disillusion him when
you notice how habit-oriented he is. He will be late
for dates, and occasionally he may stand you up. He
is absent-minded but a terrific guy.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 23-Jan. 19) Prenuptial agreements
must have been invented by a Capricorn. His defense
against emotional vulnerability (he is the biggest softie
underneath!) is to complicate everything love-oriented
with endless considerations that he claims will keep
things simple. The more he has been hurt in the past,
the more he tries to control his relationship with you.
Keep smiling. If you win his trust, you discover that
this faithful, devoted guy is in it for the long haul
(Capricorns live, and stay married, forever!) and that
the best is always yet to come. He continues to grow
(and look great!), achieve and build into his advanced
years, and he is very unlikely to run off with some
young chicken when you turn gray. Stick with it!
AQUARIUS (Jan. 10-Feb. 18) Now, this is going
to take work, but this guy is worth it. He's a visionary
and used to being ahead of his time. He isn't easy to
get along with, though. It helps if you meet at a rally
for a social cause - if he gets pompous, compare which
of you is putting in the most volunteer hours. He considers
himself broad-minded, and he is indeed intelligent -
if you don't want to devote your life to the advancement
of humankind, with all the sacrifice and adventure that
such a pursuit must entail, give this guy up. Ideals
are reality to him: Don't break your word (though he
may break his), and be prepared to risk material security
for what you believe in. He is loyal, and the friendship
between you will remain, no matter what happens to the
marriage.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) The secret to catching
this guy is to make him need you: Listen to him - he
really needs that! - and show tenderness, since he is
very, very sensitive to tenderness. He sees through
Pisces-colored glasses a lot of the time, so your own
perspective needs a firm base in fact, or else you'll
be forever bobbing about on his latest mood swing. But
he is kind and gentle, with the most inspiring qualities
of spirituality, and a wise man inside him emerges at
the oddest times. He is absent-minded and sometimes
hopelessly impractical, and when he gets to feeling
sorry for himself, you could kill him. But he will be
a wonderful father, and he will stand by you through
thick and thin, sometimes using his intuition to bring
astounding good fortune into your life.
